Over the past two years at community college, I have made an effort to prepare for my Business Administration major by combining academics, industry experience, and applied research. My time working at a real estate investment firm has given me hands on exposure to market analysis, financial modeling, and investment decision making. This professional experience has connected what I've learned in the classroom to the real world and has strengthened my ability to approach problems analytically. I've expanded my knowledge through the Economics Club, where I served as president, organizing workshops, mentorship programs, and symposiums that helped guide members through their research on a wide range of economic topics. Leading the club has taught me how to build a collaborative environment for students interested in business and economics, while deepening my own understanding of economic theory and policy. I have also sought out opportunities to challenge myself academically, participating in multiple case competitions hosted by UC Berkeley. These have sharpened my ability to work under pressure, analyze business problems creatively, and present strategic recommendations while complementing my honors coursework, where I applied my outside knowledge to more rigorous, in-depth assignments. Whether it's analyzing the financial implications of corporate acquisitions, evaluating the impact of current tariff policies, or comparing the financial statements of competing firms, I have consistently put the theory I've learned in class into practice. Additionally, presenting my work at research symposiums has prepared me for the expectations of university level study. It has taught me to synthesize information from multiple sources, defend my conclusions, and communicate my findings with confidence. Balancing leadership roles, research, industry experience, and a demanding academic schedule has prepared me not only for the rigor of upper-division courses, but also to contribute meaningfully to the university's business community.
